Trusting in the path ahead

The world has always been complex; now it is becoming more and more uncertain. Economic conditions have been volatile since the end of 2023, marked by geopolitical turbulence and an unstable macroeconomic environment. A thick fog has gradually descended. But although it has reduced our visibility, opportunities are emerging and compelling us to be clear-headed, agile and optimistic in every decision we make.

In this challenging environment, the CTP is forging ahead. We have remained firmly on course, driven by our teams’ unstinting commitment, our collective ability to adapt, and the pertinence of our strategic roadmap. The first glimmer of a recovery appeared in autumn 2024, with a substantial improvement in our order books. Although the fog is still lingering today, we have learned to live with it.

What if this uncertainty is actually an invitation to plot a new course? Imagine different paths, and explore in different ways? Our route is neither straight nor set in stone; it follows the lie of the land, takes ups and downs in its stride, and constantly adapts to unexpected diversions.

We at the CTP are pressing ahead like mountain guides, drawing on our wealth of experience. Our steps steady, we navigate with confidence on carefully chosen routes, and our skills offer each of our partners solid support. In this industrial partnership roping us all together, each member makes a vital contribution to the collective effort and helps us all to advance.

In this shared ascent, dialogue is crucial. More than ever, an open mind, attentive listening and free circulation of ideas will be the keys to transforming uncertainties into real opportunities. This is where the strength of our collective intelligence lies: testing risky ideas to foster viable solutions in a complex industrial world; taking plausible concepts and making them possible!

Technology is also vital to success. We have been using artificial intelligence for 20 years to fine-tune our tools, accelerate our processes and imagine new approaches. But here at the CTP we believe first and foremost in augmented intelligence, where digital technology enhances human expertise — without replacing it — to accelerate the roll-out of ideas and drive innovation.

We face some major challenges on the road ahead, as we seek to align decarbonisation, recyclability, and upscaling of innovations. These challenges go far beyond our sector alone, and they call for ambitious, collective, responsible solutions.

Our roadmap for 2025 is clear and resolute: we will keep moving forward, innovating tirelessly and advancing with confidence along this narrow path where a sustainable future and an industry fully committed to the green transition are on the horizon.
