Sensors - Modelling and Data Processing

UST’ Manager: Guy EYMIN PETOT TOURTOLLET

Objectives

Design and develop innovative measuring tools for measurements in laboratory and online; Analyse and optimise processes using techniques of data processing, modelization and simulation.

Competences

Data processing, statistical methods, experiment plans.
Modelization of knowledge, black box, dynamic/static simulation, mass balance, heat balance, optimisation under constraints.
Electronics, industrial computing and MMI (Man Machine Interface),  Signal processing, optical techniques, microscope, laser, NIR, image processing …

Activity

The UST develops and provide the industry with performance analytical means and the related technical expertise. Based on technological breakthroughs, those tools, sensors and software, are available for improving:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Quality of product
  • Control of costs

As far as sensors are concerned, we provide innovative solutions for measurements and interpretation at laboratory level and online at industrial machine level.
The activities of modelization/simulation and optimisation under constraints of processes, allow to define the best functioning scenarios, to check the impact of modifications before investment and to help the operators in understanding better the processes.  We also intervene on industrial data processing to extract the relevant data in the available mass of data and optimise products and processes.

Materials

  • Development lab (VB, C, platforms, Mechanical design software SolidWorks, optics, software and Image Processing Libraries, etc…).
  • Platforms of static and dynamic modelization/ simulation, Optimisation software.
  • Industrial Data Processing software: Neuroline Studio, Matlab…
